An oil painting can be a major investment in a valuable object of art which may become a family heirloom, a gift to a loved-one or even for re-selling.

Here is the process I use:

  1. Most of my commissioned work is referenced from supplied photographs.
  2. Initial contact is made via my email: enquiries@davidmannersart.co.uk or via the message facility on this site or Facebook or Instagram.
  3. Once the size, image and price are agreed, the painting will take up to 3 months to delivery.
  4. The agreed price includes my time, varnishing, framing and courier delivery.
  5. As a guide to price, an oil painting on either linen canvas or birch panel (preferred) measuring 60cm x 46cm (24″ x 18″) is £720. This price can vary greatly according to the subject, size and any specific requirements.
  6. I offer a 0% instalment monthly payment option should it be required, but I do request a 25% deposit on commissioning. The balance is due on completion and prior to delivery.
  7. The painting you will receive will be unique and something to treasure for a lifetime and for generations to come.

It’s often difficult to grasp the jargon of what artists are talking about when it comes to the format of a print of their work. Hopefully the photos below will clarify.

What a delight it’s been to paint Anna, organist and Director of Music at Pembroke College, Cambridge and also Deputy Organist at the Royal Albert Hall.

Anna has brought a breath of fresh air to the world of classical music and is currently undertaking a tour of the USA.
